Alan M. Golub
Alan M. Golub has been President of Modern Electric Co. since 2000 when his father, Murray J. Golub, retired.
Prior to that, he served as Vice President for ten years. Responsibilities include sales, estimating, and supervision
of day-to-day operations of this multi-million dollar company. He worked as a Union apprentice, journeyman, and foreman
through IBEW Local No. 164.
Alan has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2000 (and also serves on the Finance, Government Affairs,
and Residential & Small Works Committees) of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and
previously served as Trustee on the NECA Administrative Fund Committee. He is on the Advisory Board of Valley
National Bank. He is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Construction Round Table (CRT), American Subcontractors
Association (ASA), New Jersey Association of Electrical Inspectors (NJAEI), and National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA). He holds Electrical Contractor Licenses in New Jersey, Westchester County (NY), and Connecticut.
Alan is a 1985 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and is currently on their Charter Day EDC Committee.
Matthew T. Glennon, P.E.
Matt Glennon has over 22 years experience in management, engineering, and construction. As Vice President, he is
involved in the day-to-day management of the office operation as well as business development and project management.
Matt joined Modern Electric in 2002, bringing with him a business and engineering background that includes electric
utility operations and maintenance, industrial plant engineering and design, forensic engineering and accident investigation,
and insurance risk management.
Matt is a graduate of Manhattan College where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree (electrical engineering).
He also has a Master of Engineering degree in electric power systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA
in Finance from Rutgers University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey and a Senior
Member of IEEE.
Mark Orecchio, P.E.
Mark Orecchio brings over 28 years experience in the electrical construction industry. As Project Manager, Mark is
responsible for all phases of the construction process including estimating, procurement, field coordination, and
customer interface. Prior to joining Modern Electric in 2005, Mark was employed by contracting and engineering firms,
working on commercial and industrial electrical projects of various sizes, where he supervised estimating and
engineering staffs on design/build projects.
Mark has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a
licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.
David Calao
Dave Calao has worked in the electrical business since 1982 starting as a project foreman. As Chief Estimator/Project
Manager, he estimates projects upwards of $10M, supervises purchasing, reviews submittals, coordinates releases with
project schedules and is involved in contract negotiations.
He has completed design-build projects to $2.5M and has worked on projects including Hackensack Hospital New Research
Building, The Promenade in Edgewater, NJ, the Merck Health Physics Support Facility and Bldg. 805
(both in Rahway, NJ).
Eric L'Heureux
Eric L'Heureux has 23 years experience as a draftsman, estimator, and project manager in the electrical industry.
As an estimator, he performs drawing take-offs, determines labor and material requirements, and prepares bid packages.
As a Project Manager, he is involved in change order review and pricing, purchasing of lighting and distribution
equipment, review of submittals, and coordination of releases.
While with Modern Electric, Eric has worked on a variety of projects, including retail
(Target Stores, Shop Rite Stores, A&P Supermarkets), hospital (HUMC Tomotherapy), warehouse and offices
(Glenmark Pharmaceutical), and banks (PNC, Chase).
Pat Cassetta
Pat has been a member of the Modern Electric team since 1972. He worked as an apprentice, journeyman, and foreman
from 1972 to 1984, and as project superintendent since 1984.
His project responsibilities include reviewing plans and specifications, providing value engineering, coordinating
layout, material and manpower, and attending job meetings. Some of the many projects he has supervised include
countless supermarkets, the $8M Promenade complex in Edgewater, NJ, MSNBC in Secaucus, NJ, the IBM Facility in
Franklin Lakes, NJ, and the Bergen Town Center renovation in Paramus. Pat also brings over 35 years experience
working on electrical systems in supermarkets and other refrigerated facilities. His unique expertise in this
area is greatly valued by Modern’s customers.
Pat has been a member of IBEW LU #164 since 1969.
Michael Lieberman
Mike has worked for Modern Electric since 1990 as foreman and general foreman, and has been project superintendent
since 1997.
He has supervised numerous projects at Roche facilities including New Bldg. 1 and Bldg. 28 Pegylation Interferon
Expansion in Nutley, PCR Manufacturing Center in Branchburg, and the Resident Electrical Services in Belvidere, NJ.
He has also supervised various retail, office, and warehouse projects including representing Modern at job meetings
and coordinating construction from beginning to end of the project.
Mike has been a member of IBEW LU #102 since 1966.
Ray Lombardo
Ray has been Modern Electric's Purchasing Manager for 18 years and is responsible for procurement of all material and
equipment rentals for the company's many projects. He also supervises Modern's warehouse staff and drivers.
Previously, Ray worked for three years with another electrical contractor and spent six years with electrical
distributors learning the industry with hands-on selling of the materials he purchases today.
Joseph DeChiaro
Joe has been the Controller at Modern Electric since 1996. He is responsible for all phases of the day-to-day
internal accounting and financial operations of the company. Joe is a graduate of Seton Hall University where he
earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He has over 35 years experience in the construction industry.
